Alpha and Omega Semiconductor Limited has launched a new line of coil drivers. The initial product AOZ32033AQI is available in 30V, 11mOhm QFN3x3 package. The device is ideal for designing wireless charging TX circuits for wireless power tools, unmanned aerial vehicles, vacuum cleaners, and other consumer electronic devices that consist of a full bridge topology and resonant loop circuits to produce optimal power conversion efficiency. It is an integrated half-bridge gate driver capable of driving high-end and low-end N-channel MOSFEts. It uses SRC to adjust the charge/pull current and provides an ideal balance between efficiency and EMI optimization in the design of wireless charging transmitter circuits.

The solution has a highly integrated package that reduces the number of parts by up to 40% compared to traditional methods. This new device helps save PCB space and achieve higher performance in high wattage wireless transmission circuits up to 30W. With high side, low side UVLO, OTP and other protection functions, make the design more robust. The device can be used in a wide input voltage range from 4V to 28V.

Colin Huang, AOS Power IC Marketing Manager said :"As more and more terminal applications are realizing the benefits of eliminating physical connectors and cables, power levels for wireless charging are increasing. AOS's coil driver products provide an efficient, power-intensive and cost-effective solution for wireless charging TX circuits. The integrated approach provides protection capabilities that cannot be provided using discrete methods, while reducing engineering design cycles and complexity, "
