Omron has introduced a new sealed subminiature lever switch with long stroke, highly reliable contact mechanism and near-silent operation.
The new Omron D2AW long-stroke hermetically sealed switch has a "unique" dual contact design for greater reliability. The company says the contacts have a sliding effect that not only helps remove dust and other pollutants, but is also very quiet.
These characteristics make D2AW ideal for consumer electronics and premium automotive applications. Other applications include white goods, HVAC systems, security systems and smart meters. The D2AW measures only 13.3mm x 7mm x 5.3mm, with a long stroke and an overtravel of 1.4mm.
The D2AW is rugged, supports up to 20 operations per minute, and has an insulation resistance of 100Mohm. It has a rated life of 200,000 operations. It is sealed according to IEC IP67 and can switch up to 100mA.
D2AW offers multiple options and configurations. It has a normally open or normally closed form with a pin plunger, impeller, long lever, roller lever or long roller lever actuator.
