An extended family of network processors speeds up automotive applications

     NXP Semiconductor has expanded the S32G in-car network processor family with the introduction of the S32G3 family with four initial devices. Compatible with the SOFTWARE and pins of the S32G2 family, these new devices provide application processing performance, on-chip memory and network 2.5 times higher than the current highest-performing S32G2 family devices to achieve more ECU integration and support intelligent software-defined vehicles. 

   With the addition of the new family, the family can now address a wider range of vehicle applications, from security microcontrollers to higher performance domain controllers, security processors and regional vehicle computing applications.

    The family provides 2.5 times more application processing power, Ethernet bandwidth on both ports, and system-on-chip memory than the highest performance devices in the current family. In addition, it doubles the number of isolated domains, which will be critical for future ECU integration. The significant performance enhancement of the same package pin arrangement meets the requirements of more demanding software-defined vehicles. 

     EVB3 Evaluation Board, RDB3 Reference design and GoldBox 3 Rugged-shell version, combined with a wide range of support software and the Vehicle Integration Platform (GoldVIP) for Fast Connection Gateway development, provide platform solutions to accelerate customer evaluation, development and validation - concept and time-to-market.
