Compact box fuses save board space in high power equipment designs

Littelfuse, Inc offers its compact series of box fuses rated at 500VAC/VDC with rated currents from 40A to 63A and 10000A interrupt ratings.

The 607 series high-current, high-voltage box fuse provides a powerful solution for demanding high-voltage power supply circuits and is designed for overcurrent protection applications. Using a 10mm x 32mm box, a single 607 fuse requires less board space than previous designs that used multiple fuses with lower current ratings in parallel. The 500V fuse rating applies to BOTH AC and DC inputs. As a result, designers developing high-power devices can reduce the amount of board space reserved for protective elements.

Style Liu, global product manager for Littelfuse's electronics division:"Today's power designers need greater layout flexibility to help reduce the size of high-power designs while improving reliability." "Compared to similar fuses on the market, the 607 series not only has a very compact footprint and saves board space, but also offers very high interrupt rating and high current rating."

Operating temperature range from -55C to 125C provides reliable protection in extreme temperature environments. Environmentally friendly components are RoHS compliant, halogen-free and 100% lead free. The series comes in a through hole, 10 mm x 32 mm package in a pallet of 500 pieces.

Typical applications for fuses include data centers, telecommunications, electric vehicle charging, HVAC systems, UPS, and inverters and rectifiers.
