Digital isolator for seamless data transfer

Technology Cover
Post Date: 2022-02-18, Analog Devices Inc.

ADI has launched the first in a new line of iCoupler digital isolators with a total bandwidth of 10 Gb per second. The ADN4624 digital isolator provides four 2.5Gbps channels to enable seamless transfer of data across the electrical sector and support new system architectures for the instrumentation, digital health and intelligence industries. New digital isolators simplify design and easily integrate isolation to ensure security or data integrity.

The device is a compact solution that meets medical standards and reliably isolates high-fidelity video and imaging links, precision analog front ends and serial interconnects as an option to cumbersome and dedicated optical fiber solutions.

The appliance provides simplified connectivity, strong isolation, and data integrity in harsh environments. The new digital isolator provides up to 10Gbps of total bandwidth in a single, small footprint device, providing direct isolation of high-speed serial LVDS or CML at full speed and eliminating the complexity of deserialization. The device enables precise timing with ultra-low jitter for complete ADC performance and resolution, including an accurate ADC sampling clock.
