Diodes Incorporated's AP7344 is a new dual 300mA low-dropout (LDO) regulator with high output accuracy of 1% and low quiescent current of 50μA. The device comes in a small package and is suitable for battery-powered consumer products such as cameras, smartphones and tablets. The AP7344 supports input voltages from 1.7V to 5.25V, enabling it to cover all Li + batteries commonly found in portable electronic systems. It provides a stable output voltage VOUT, which can be fixed between 1.2V and 3.6V, with an accuracy of 1% at + 25C, and can drive 300mA loads. Other key performance characteristics of this regulator include: low RDSON, high PSRR at 75dB at 1kHz, low output noise of 60μVrms, and low quiescent current of 50μA, which helps save power consumption and extend battery life. The AP7344 is available in a small X2-DFN1612-8 package, which is ideal for the dense PCB layout typical of portable electronic systems. The company says it offers a competitive alternative with similar industry-standard LDOs, but with comparable performance but lower cost, with the added benefit of greater efficiency at light loads.
