HVC module provides very fast recognition speed (Omron HVC-P2)

Omron’s HVC-P2 multi-function sensor module is now available through TTI Europe. The product provides a maximum recognition speed that is 10 times faster than previous HVC system sensors from the company. The module features their OKAO vision technology for recognising human face expression, gender, age, gaze, and blink into a camera module. It can detect a human body four times per second, reliably keeping track of a person within a detection area without fail.

The sensor module consists of a camera and a separate motherboard, which are connected via a flexible flat cable. It offers cameras with wide angle (50 degree lens) and wide angle (90 degree lens). Devices embedded with the component can recognize and accept a user's attributes and states in their environment without being aware of the camera. This discovery feature allows the device to enable services based on that user's attributes.

The device can be used in a variety of sensor and IoT applications, including vending machines, lighting and security products, heating and cooling systems, robotics, appliances and digital signage.
