LTM8073 of Analog Devices μ Module Mute Switch Regulator

Technology Cover
Post Date: 2022-11-10, Analog Devices Inc.

The LTM8073 mute switch regulator of Analog Devices can safely operate from unregulated or fluctuating 24 V to 48 V input power supply in noisy environments, such as communication infrastructure, factory automation, industrial robots and avionics systems. This silent switch structure minimizes EMC/EMI emissions and enables the LTM8073 to pass CISPR 22 Class B for signal processing applications, including imaging and RF systems.

The output voltage can be adjusted by a resistance of 0.8 V to 15 V. The wide output range allows versatility because one product can generate 3.3 V, 5.0 V, 12 V, and 15 V common system bus voltages. Without radiator or airflow, the LTM8073 provides a 3 a output current up to+85 ° C. In addition, its shared pins share current, and it can run in parallel to provide more current.

Typical Application

The LTM8073 contains a switch regulator controller, power switch, inductor, and other support components that fit in a 6.25 mm x 9.0 mm x 3.32 mm BGA package. To complete the design, only a large number of input and output capacitors and a few small resistors are required.
