The AD5761R/AD5721R is a single-channel, 16/12-bit serial input, voltage output, digital-to-analog converter (dac). They operate at single supply voltages from + 4.75V to +30 V or dual supply voltages from − 16.5V to 0 V VSS and + 4.75V to + 16.5V VDD. The integrated output amplifier, reference buffer, and reference provide a very easy to use, universal solution.

Functional block diagram

The device has guaranteed monotone with a maximum integral nonlinearity (INL) of ±2 LSB, noise of 35 nV/√Hz, and settling time of 7.5 μs in the selected range. The AD5761R/AD5721R uses a serial interface, operates at clock frequencies up to 50 MHz, and is compatible with DSP and microcontroller interface standards. Dual buffering allows asynchronous updates to the DAC output. The input code is user - optional two - complement or direct binary.

The asynchronous reset function resets all registers to their default state. The output range is user selectable, via the RA[2:0] bit in the control register. The device is available in a 3 mm x 3 mm LFCSP package and a 16-pin TSSOP package, providing guaranteed specifications in the −40°C to +125°C industrial temperature range.
