In recent years, the demand for rotation detection of small motors and operation turntables, and the demand for fine position detection due to the high precision of equipment such as linear actuators, have been increasing.

The NJL5821R and NJL5822R are two-phase digital output reflective photoelectric encoders that achieve low current consumption by combining a newly designed light-receiving IC and high-output infrared LEDs. In the past, in the conventional positioning detection in the linear direction and the rotation direction, it is necessary to adjust the distance between the sensor and the fringe mirror to keep it constant. The NJL5821R and NJL5822R achieve strong resistance to distance fluctuations by uniquely processing the light-receiving detection level of the light-receiving device.

The feature of this product is that it has the characteristics of strong resistance to the distance fluctuation of the fringe mirror. In the conventional positioning detection such as the linear direction and the rotation direction, the distance between the sensor and the fringe mirror needs to be adjusted to keep it constant. The NJL5821R and NJL5822R uniquely handle the reflected light from the recommended reflector (striped mirror), resulting in excellent robustness*1, simplified device integration, and strong resistance to distance fluctuations. In addition, the duty cycle and phase difference are almost unchanged even if the distance between the sensor and the fringe mirror fluctuates. and is not easily affected by sensor installation accuracy and changes in the external environment

Wide operating temperature, can be directly embedded in the motor (highest temperature in the industry), NJL5821R and NJL5822R have successfully increased the operating temperature to 105°C. This allows it to be directly embedded in motors that require high-temperature operation.

Designed with low current consumption, including drive current for light emitting devices (LEDs), the NJL5821R and NJL5822R combine high-output infrared LEDs with high-sensitivity, low-current-consumption light-receiving ICs, enabling low-power designs that can be used in battery-powered devices. The drive current is about 1/5 of other companies' conventional products. *2

Rotation (movement) direction and position can be detected through two-phase digital output, NJL5821R and NJL5822R are used in combination with the recommended reflector to obtain a digital two-phase signal, which can be used to detect rotation (movement) direction and position. And the resolution is higher than the existing NJL5820R products, which can be used in various application fields such as industrial equipment and cameras.
