     The onsemi NCN26010XMNEVB evaluation board is a demonstration and development platform for the NCN26010 industrial Ethernet transceiver. NCN26010 is a 10Mb/s IEEE 802.3cg compatible device, including a media access controller (MAC), a PLCA coordination sub layer (RS) and a 10BASE-T1S PHY, designed for industrial multipoint Ethernet. NCN26010 provides all physical layer functions required for transmitting and receiving data through a single unshielded twisted pair. The onsemi NCN26010 industrial Ethernet transceiver communicates with the host MCU through the open alliance MACPHY SPI protocol.

     The NCN26010XMNEVB evaluation board contains all necessary circuits. When connected to the host or microcontroller board through SPI, the evaluation board can be used as a 10 base T1S MACHY node. The evaluation board has a pre installed NCN26010 and two RJ45 connectors for connecting a twisted pair data cable. For ease of use, the standard Cat5 Ethernet cable can be connected to the RJ45 connector.

     The RSL10 BDK-GEVK base plate can be used for SPI connection through the Pmod connector on the NCN26010XMNEVB evaluation board. Using the NCN26010BMNEVB adapter board, the evaluation board can also be connected to the Raspberry Pi single board computer (SBC).

     To monitor SPI flow, the NCN26010XMNEVB evaluation board is equipped with an easily accessible 0.1 inch pitch pin connector. This connector can also be connected to a logic analyzer to track SPI signals when working with Raspberry Pi or any other suitable host MCU or SBC. You can also use this connector to connect the host PCB (third-party MCU evaluation board) that does not provide a Pmod connector.
