Panasonic's Power Choke Coils and Hybrid Capacitors

The rugged LP power choke coils offer inductance stability over a broad temperature range, have low power losses and a low audible (buzz) noise, says the distributor. They have a metal composite core and are suitable for demanding automotive applications, where space is limited. They can be used in noise filters for drive circuitry requiring high temperature operation and peak current handling capability. The low profile (3mm and 4mm maximum height) coils are designed for operation up to +155°C and for peak temperatures of +180°C. The construction is claimed to result in good vibration resistance under severe reliability conditions.

The ZE series hybrid capacitors combine the benefits of electrolytic capacitors with those of solid polymer versions, resulting in low leakage current and long life, with low ESR (20mΩ) in miniature case sizes. The capacitors have a high endurance of 2,000 hours at 145°C and are vibration proof (up to 30G), making them suitable for automotive applications including I/O filtering in power converters and voltage regulators, power and battery decoupling and clock circuitry.
