Diodes Incorporated has strengthened its range of PCIe solutions with new high-speed data rate ReDriver devices. The diode PI2EQX16924 is the industry's first available PCIe 4.0 ReDriver from a 1.8V rail, while competing solutions must use a 3.3V rail. It handles a wide variety of computing and data communication applications.

The device consumes only 288mW and 27mW in active and low power modes, which is especially important for saving battery charging in portable applications. And can handle data rates up to 16Gbps. Compatible with PCIe 4.0 and backward compatible with PCIe 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 generations. Supports an industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.

The device provides four differential channels that are independently configurable for receiver equalization and gain. This mitigates intersymbol interference and enables signal loss compensation so that longer PCB trace lengths can be achieved. Since the I2C interface is used for this configuration work, firmware requirements are minimal.
