Secondary side SR switch designed for synchronous rectification

Technology Cover
Post Date: 2022-04-25, Diodes Incorporated

The two-stage SR switch is a two-stage combinational IC that combines an N-channel MOSFET with a drive circuit for synchronous rectification. The unit supports continuous and discontinuous conduction modes and quasi resonant flyback operation. It provides a short on and off delay to reduce power loss, eliminate false triggers, and maintain safe operation without adding any external components or circuits.

The device is available in SO-8 (Type CJ2) packages. It can be charged by the internal PLR at low system output voltage and provides a wide output operating voltage of 3.3V to 24V.

It supports flyback synchronous rectification with CCM/DCM/QR operation modes, provides intelligent control to minimize on/off delay, intelligent blanking control to prevent penetration, and supports high and low end applications.and the device is a lead - and RoHS compliant, halogen - and antimony - free "green" device.

Typical applications include smart phone quick chargers. Laptop adapters, set-top box power supplies, and other compact switch AC/DC adapters/chargers.
