Silicon Labs - Galvanically isolated analog amplifiers feature low-voltage differential input (Si8920)

Technology Cover
Post Date: 2015-11-24, Silicon Labs
Silicon Labs' Si8920 galvanically isolated analog amplifier has a low-voltage differential input, making it ideal for measuring voltage across a shunt resistor or where the sensor must be isolated from the control system. The output is a differential analog signal, amplified by 8.1 times or 16.2 times. These devices are targeted at applications such as industrial, hybrid vehicles, and renewable energy inverters; AC, brushless, and DC motor controls and drives; variable speed motor control in consumer white goods; isolation switch mode and UPS power.
