TDK has added a 48V, 83.3A 4kW output power supply to TDK-Lambda's TPS series. TPS4000-48 works through industrial three-phase input. It can run automatically from 400, 440, or 480VAC nominal increments or WYE input, without changing wiring or requiring large, expensive step-down transformers. This industrial-grade power supply is ideal for use in many applications, such as test and measurement equipment, additive manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturing, printers, laser cutting, and RF power amplifiers.
This series provides standard output voltage and current programming, AC fault, DC good and phase loss warning signals, configurable remote on/off, 12V 0.3A standby voltage and PMBus interface. Use this interface to remotely monitor the output voltage and current, internal temperature, status signal and fan speed. PMBus can program the output voltage, current limit and remote on/off. Using the front panel potentiometer or analog 0-5VDC voltage, the output voltage can be adjusted within the range of 38.4-58V, and the current limit point can be adjusted between 70-105%. In order to achieve easy parallel operation of up to 8 units to meet redundant or higher power requirements, an ORing FET is built in.
Except for the output bus, the size of the device is 107mm x 84.4mm x 335mm, which is very suitable for a 2U high rack system. The equipment is light in weight, only 4kg, with a typical efficiency of 92%. The device can be started at a temperature of -40C, can work at full load at an ambient temperature of -10C to +50C, and can provide 55% load at 70C. Variable speed, temperature controlled cooling fan reduces noise and reduces the entry of pollutants. The power supply has 3kVAC input to output, 2kVAC input to ground and 500VDC output to ground isolation.
The three-year warranty TPS has passed the safety certification of IEC/EN/UL 62368-1, and has passed the CE certification, involving low voltage, EMC and RoHS directives. TPS4000 also meets the requirements of EN55032-A EMI, SEMI F47-0706, IEC 61000-3-2, IEC 61000-4, and is designed to meet the requirements of MIL-STD-461F/G CS101, CS114 (Army), CS115, CS116 Disturbance standard.
