TDK Corporation has introduced 1.5W and 3W models for the TDK-Lambda CCG series DC-DC converters. In addition to battery-powered devices, applications include data communications, process control, telecommunications and test or measurement related products. Full load can be provided by convection cooling at ambient temperatures from -40C to +85C.

All voltage and output power combinations are available in 4.5V to 18V, 9V to 36V or 18VDC to 76VDC inputs. CCG1R5 (1.5w) and CCG3 (3W) series have output voltages of 3.3, 5, 12, 15, ±12 or ±15. Dual output versions can also be connected to provide a single 24 v or 30V power supply.

All models are shielded to prevent overcurrent conditions and can utilize remote on/off functions to suppress output. Input and output isolation voltage is 1500VDC. Single-output models can be modified over a non-standard voltage range of -5% to +10% using a clipping terminal.

Converters share a common plastic housing and measure 15.7 mm (l)x 10.4 mm (W)x 11.5 mm (H). Choice of through-hole or surface-mounted terminals offers two power levels. X-ray detection is used and packaging is not used on a highly automated production line to avoid the quality risks associated with silicone potting compounds during customer reflow soldering.

The entire temperature range is from -40C to +100C, derating above 85C. Safety certification includes IEC/UL/CSA/EN 62368-1, with CE and UKCA marks, in compliance with low voltage and RoHS directives.
