u-blox has released the MAYA-W2 triple radio module. This module supports Wi-Fi 6, BLE 5.2 and IEEE 802.15.4 (Thread and Zigbee) in a compact form factor for industrial and consumer mass in industrial automation, smart building and energy management, smart home, healthcare and many other applications The market application provides Wi-Fi 6 technology.

A module for futureproof applications with a set of advanced connectivity features. Wi-Fi-6, also known as 802.11ax, offers better network efficiency -- especially in congested areas, lower latency, and greater range than previous Wi-Fi standards. Thread paves the way for low-power, IP-based mesh networking commonly used in home automation.

The new audio capabilities allow devices to transmit multiple different audio streams concurrently, receive multiple audio streams simultaneously, and broadcast audio streams to multiple users. And the dual-mode Bluetooth module supports Bluetooth Classic and Bluetooth LE, including Bluetooth LE audio.

All required Linux, Android and FreeRTOS software drivers are open source. FreeRTOS software drivers are pre-integrated into the MCUXpresso SDK. In contrast, Android and Linux software drivers are pre-integrated into the BSPs of NXP's i.MX applications processors. This reduces design effort and simplifies software integration and testing. And it was created to get developers to market quickly.

Tri-radio modules can be easily designed into any IoT device, including antenna pins, U.FL connectors or PCB antennas, and are available in four variants with three antenna options. This professional grade module works in the -40C - 85C rang.and product developers can easily evaluate hardware with dedicated EVKs and M.2 cards that connect seamlessly to host platforms, including NXP's latest i.MX development board series.

"As an NXP Gold Partner, u-Blox is one of the first companies to use this innovative solution for its new MAYA-W2 module, which will help accelerate the development of high-performance, commercial end products that A strong, secure, reliable connection is required. And the IW612 is the industry's first triple wireless device that enables seamless, secure connectivity for smart home and industrial use cases, ideal for handling different ecosystems, including the new Matter protocol." NXP said Tom Eichenberg, senior director of market connectivity at NXP Semiconductors.f

Sebastian Schreiber, Product Manager at u-blox said:"Through our work with our customers, we have identified a clear need for secure and reliable Wi-Fi connectivity beyond what Wi-4 can provide. MAYA-W2 offers greatly improved Wi-Fi performance, especially in Bluetooth LE 5.2 and threading are also supported when dealing with congested networks. This triple-radio capability makes it ideal for gateways and bridges for low-power IoT and mesh networks,”
