   Diodes Incorporated has released a three-chip solution that can be used in a variety of consumer electronics products, including smartphone chargers and laptop adapters. It is mainly used to improve the performance of ultra-high power density USB Type-C PD system.

   AP43771V USB Type-C PD decoder compatible with PD3.0, PPS Rev 3.0, V1.2 (TID-4305), Qualcomm Quick Charge QC4/QC4+/QC5 (QC20201127203) protocol. It supports an operating voltage range of 3.3V to 24V. It includes an OTP ROM for all master firmware and an MTP ROM for holding user configuration data.

   The device supports multiple intelligent power management systems throughout the charging state. The prerequisite is I2C and GPIO pins and built-in application firmware. These integrate smart power sharing, thermal power derating, LED light indication and fault indication between multiple charging ports.

   With integrated high-end ACF gate driver control, the device supports leakage energy recovery circuits with high-end MOS switches that reduce current capabilities. This high degree of integration and use of cost-effective components reduces BOM costs and board space. The AP3306 is an ACF controller that improves operating efficiency through ZVS and magnetic energy recovery. It can be used with integrated drive GaN FET, Cascode GaN FET, or MOSFEts used as main low-side switches.         

   The APR340 is a secondary side SR MOSFET driver optimized for use with the AP3306. It offers a built-in pulse linear regulator and operates in CC mode to protect the charging system. The system output voltage can be as low as 2V, which has a significant advantage in PPS applications.

   The AP43771V has W-DFN3030-14 and W-QFN4040-24 package options. The AP3306 is provided in SO-10 package format, while the APR340 is provided in SOT26 package format.
