Vishay Intertechnology, Inc has released 15 new FRED Pt Gen 5 600V and 1200V ultrafast rectifiers and ultrafast rectifiers in the compact SOT-227 package. Rectifiers offer the best conduction and switching loss trade-offs in their class and are designed to improve the efficiency of high-frequency converters and soft-switching or resonant designs.

The device offers a current capability of 30A at 600V in a single-phase bridge configuration and 60A to 300A at 600V and 1200V in a dual diode configuration. There are two types of rectifiers: x-type ultrafast and h-type ultrafast. The h-type device has the advantage of lower conduction loss, and the x-type device has a faster recovery time. Components provide high temperature operation to +175C.

Compatible with mosfet or high-speed igbt, the device optimizes PFC and output rectification stage for EV/HEV battery charging stations, booster stage for solar inverters and UPS. Rectifiers provide low conduction losses for these applications while maintaining low reverse recovery losses. In addition, the semiconductor in the SOT-227 package is isolated from the copper base plate, allowing for common heat sinks and compact components to be built.
