Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announces a new series of low-profile AEC-Q200 qualified DC-Link metallized polypropylene film capacitors---MKP1848Se DC-Link. The Vishay Roederstein MKP1848Se DC-Link is an advanced device in the industry. Under the conditions of rated voltage, temperature of 60 C / relative humidity of 93 %, it has been tested for up to 56 days of temperature and humidity bias (T HB) to meet the application requirements of automotive high-humidity environment.

The automotive-grade capacitors announced today are available in four thicknesses—12 mm, 15 mm, 18 mm and 24 mm—and 12 optional standard sizes. The low profile design and high humidity resistance of this leaded device make it ideal for space-constrained automotive applications, including heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, in-vehicle and inductive battery charging systems, air conditioning compressors, and electric vehicle (EV) and plug-in Electric Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) motor drive.

The MKP1848Se DC-Link capacitors are rated from 1 µF to 75 µF with an ESR as low as 3 mΩ. The devices are RoHS compliant, have up to 27 A of ripple current, and are rated at 500 VDC, 700 VDC, 900 VDC, and 1200 VDC at +85 °C.
