ROHM has developed A D/A conversion IC (DAC chip)BD34352EKV and A corresponding evaluation board, BD34352EKV-EVK-001, to support playback of high-resolution sound sources in high-fidelity audio devices.

Audio DAC chips are used to maximize the extraction of high-resolution digital audio data and convert it into analog audio signals, which is one of the most important components in defining the quality of audio equipment.

Among them, THE FLAGSHIP DAC chip of MS-IC series, BD34301EKV, has been highly praised for its sound quality since its launch. However, to meet manufacturers' growing demand for DAC chips that can be used in a wider range of audio devices, the company developed the BD34352EKV.

The new DAC chip, BD34352EKV, has been specifically tuned to express the energy of the sound source, while maintaining the naturally flat sound characteristics of its DAC chip design concept. At the same time, an advanced digital filter - same as BD34301EKV. This results in the DAC chip's excellent numerical performance (S/N ratio :126dB, THD+N: -112dB), making it an ideal choice for high-end audio devices.

In addition, BD34352EKV provides pin compatibility with BD34301EKV. It has the same custom filter as BD34301EKV. This allows different sound qualities to be tuned for each audio device -- reducing the development load while helping to develop the sound that audio manufacturers aspire to.
