Diodes Incorporated has introduced five synchronous buck converters with integrated high-side and low-side MOSFETs to provide a continuous output current of 3.5A or 5A for PoL solutions. These devices offer proprietary gate driver technology that produces excellent EMI performance in step-down DC-DC conversions and is suitable for industrial, consumer, network, and automotive applications.
The quiescent current (Iq) of AP64350, AP64351 and AP64352 is 22μA, while the Iq of AP64500 and AP64501 is only 25μA. All devices provide low RDS (ON) and operate from a supply voltage of 3.8V to 40V, and provide LDO mode. In addition to optimized gate driver designs, these devices use spread-spectrum topologies to further reduce EMI.
In addition, the AP64351 and AP64501 implement programmable soft-start, which can reduce the effects of inrush current and tracking, thereby enabling more efficient power sequencing.
The switching frequency is adjustable from 100kHz to 2.2MHz. This adjustable frequency enables engineers to choose the most suitable configuration for their application based on efficiency, size of external components, or RF compatibility with other system-level functions.
