Freescale PF3000 power management IC (PMIC) is a supporting device for Freescale's i.MX 7 series, i.MX 6SoloLite and i.MX 6SoloX series application processors. PF3000 is a single-chip power management solution. The PF3000 PMIC can drive core processors, external memories, and peripherals to help reduce design complexity and cost, while also providing the highest overall power efficiency. The PF3000 has four buck converters, six linear regulators, an RTC power supply and a coin cell battery charger, and supports one-time programmable memory. The device has a configurable architecture supported by SMARTMOS technology, which supports numerous outputs with various current ratings and programmable voltages and sequencing. This feature enables the PF3000 to power not only the core processor, but also peripherals and various types of system memory resources-the overall solution size for all these components is less than 100mm². In addition, the PMIC supports one-time programmable memory, which requires no external components to control the startup sequence and output voltage. Light-load efficiency is combined with user-programmable standby, sleep / LPSR and power-down modes. The PF3000 is available in a 7mm x 7mm, 48-pin QFN package. With a variety of programming and temperature options, this series is ideally suited for a variety of consumer and industrial Internet of Things (IoT) applications, including tablets, wearable computing devices, industrial controls, medical monitoring, security and home automation.
