Global megatrends such as digitalization and decarbonization are driving the demand for silicon carbide/gallium nitride (SiC/GaN) devices using wide bandgap (WBG) devices. These devices have unique technical characteristics that enable power products to optimize performance and energy efficiency. Infineon Technologies and Delta Electronics Co., Ltd., two global electronics manufacturers, have long been committed to innovative semiconductor and power electronics fields, and announced the deepening of their cooperation to strengthen the application of wide-bandgap SiC and GaN devices in high-end power products , to provide excellent solutions for end customers.

At present, Infineon and Delta continue to deepen product integration and application cooperation. Delta's latest 1.4 kW server power supply and 1.6 kW 80 Plus titanium-grade gaming power supply use Infineon's wide-bandgap power devices. Relying on the core competitiveness accumulated in the power electronics field for decades, Delta combined with Infineon's high-performance asymmetric trench-type CoolSiC MOSFET technology to launch a 1.4 kW server power supply, which can achieve an efficiency of over 96%. Another 1.6 kW titanium-grade gaming power supply uses Infineon's CoolGaN technology and EiceDRIVER™ gate driver ICs, with an efficiency of 96% at multi-voltage output, much higher than the industrial titanium-grade standard (94% ), which is mainly due to the use of Infineon's CoolGaN™ GIT (Gate Current Injection Transistor) 600 V e-mode HEMT technology, combined with the interleaved totem-pole PFC topology, resulting in a significant increase in overall efficiency.

These two indicative design cases successfully demonstrate the excellent results created by combining the strengths of both parties. With Infineon's industry-leading, performance-oriented, high-reliability wide-bandgap device portfolio and Delta's innovative capabilities in power electronics systems, a new level of efficiency for power supplies has been achieved, meeting or even surpassing today's 80 Plus standard. Through the deepening of cooperation between the two companies, the two companies hope to help Delta provide end customers with more energy-efficient solutions through Infineon's high-quality and cost-effective wide-bandgap technology and highly stable supply capabilities. It has taken the lead in the wave of low-carbon applications created by gap technology.

Yin Xuanbo, Vice President of Delta and General Manager of the Power Supply and System Business Group, said, "Delta invests more than 8% of its revenue in R&D and innovation every year, providing efficient and reliable solutions for servers, gaming computers and other customers in various industries. Power solutions to meet their need for energy savings. Achieving goals and success in a highly competitive market requires working with trusted, leading device suppliers who have a solid understanding of the power system field and offer customization for specific applications Infineon is a world-class supplier of semiconductor and system solutions, and a long-term partner of Delta. Its diverse and efficient WBG products help us create industry-leading power products.”

Johannes Schoiswohl, head of the High Efficiency Power Supply, Isolation and Connectivity business line at Infineon's Power & Sensing Systems business unit, said: "Infineon's investment in production scale and excellent technology for wide-bandgap products, coupled with a focus on every part of the value chain, Stage quality and reliability are critical to the success and customer acceptance of our wide bandgap semiconductor business. Our devices undergo rigorous quality and reliability testing procedures that exceed the specifications of the JEDEC standard, thus predicting our wideband The long-term characteristics of gap devices ensure reliable performance throughout the product life cycle. We are very pleased to continue to expand cooperation projects with our long-term partner Delta, based on the cooperation and trust spanning more than 20 years, using both parties in the field of technology and systems. expertise, bringing innovative power solutions to the server and gaming markets of the future.”
