Tezer has published a new e-book with Maxim Integrated, now owned by ADI, that explores the benefits and challenges of LiDAR systems. In "7 LiDAR Design Experts," industry experts discuss some of the most promising opportunities and complex issues in producing new LiDAR solutions.

To provide near-instantaneous ToF measurements, lidar systems must maintain precise accuracy, high speed, and wide field of view. LiDAR solutions can measure ToF of objects up to 200 meters away with an accuracy of 1cm to 3cm, helping to maintain a growing number of use cases and applications, including ADAS, among others.

The high-speed comparator provides a typical propagation delay of 280ps and a low typical overdrive dispersion of 25ps, making it ideal for ToF, distance measurement applications. The new ebook provides detailed insights into building lighter and smaller devices while meeting these performance requirements. The ebook connects designers directly to the solutions required for LiDAR innovation, providing information on products such as the MAX40025 and MAX40026 single comparators and the MAX40027 dual comparators.

The device has the characteristics of high gain, low noise (only 2.1 pA/√Hz), wide band width (440MHz), fast overload recovery, etc. Complementary comparators in a LiDAR receiving signal chain are high-speed TIAs, such as MAX40662.
