     Littelfuse's semiconductor-based protection IC (eFuse) provides highly integrated functionality in a compact package in addition to existing passive overcurrent protection such as fuses and PTCS. They provide protection against overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, overtemperature, reverse current, and inrush current protection during hot swap and hot swap events.

     Precision and integration provide highly accurate current limiting, faster response times, and more integrated protection, sensing, and control functions than traditional fuses and PTCS. Programmable and custom design requirements combine greater flexibility such as adjustable overvoltage thresholds, current limits and inrush currents, and true reverse current blocking to speed time-to-market compared to traditional power switches. Reduced design phase, PC board space requirements, BOM cost, and time-to-market compared to typical discrete solutions (e.g., hot-swapable controller + MOSFET). These regulators help maximize device uptime, improve product reliability, increase battery life, reduce maintenance costs, and extend overall product life.
