Low-voltage 20-bit bus switch, pre-charged output

Technology Cover
Post Date: 2022-12-15, Renesas Electronics America

The CBTLV16800 provides 20 bit high-speed bus switching. The on resistance of the switch is low, allowing connection with minimum propagation delay. The device also precharges the B port to a user selectable bias voltage (BIASV) to minimize live insertion noise. CBTLV16800 is a dual 10 bit bus switch with two different output enable (OE) control inputs.

Function block diagram

When OE is low, the corresponding 10 bit bus switch is open, and port A is connected to port B. When OE is high, the switch is opened, and there is a high impedance state between the two ports. Port B is pre charged to BIASV through a resistance equivalent to 10-k Ω. To ensure the high impedance state during power on or power off, OE shall be connected to VCC through pull-up resistance; The minimum resistance is determined by the current sinking capacity of the driver
