The versatile Molex SPOX wire-to-board connector offers a very wide range of mating configurations, with pitch sizes ranging from 2.5mm to 5.08mm. The name of SPOX comes from the shape of the terminal, like a "spring box". This design style provides multiple contact points, protects the docking interface area, and prevents it from being caught by wires during processing. The SPOX BMI connector has an automatic alignment function, rated current up to 3A, and a pitch size of 2.54mm. This is one of the smallest blind-plug packages available for wire-to-wire and wire-to-board applications. The novel low profile of the SPOX Blind Insertion Interface (BMI) enables the stacking distance to be only 11mm. This product uses proven SPOX-style contacts for high reliability and is suitable for situations where a highly reliable tin interface is required. The unique dual-row panel mount design provides sturdy support for blind-mating applications and allows misalignment of up to 3mm between connectors before mating. Multiple pin counts allow design flexibility and provide power and signal circuits. The company said that double-row 2.5mm products cannot be matched with traditional single-row 2.5mm products.
