Parker Hannifin's Chomerics division launched three new Pro-Shield products for the European market. This line of coatings, paints and sealants enables users to produce plastic components with stable emi shielding. Applications in industries such as electronics, telecommunications and healthcare could benefit.

The durable acrylic coating uses the ferromagnetic properties of the nickel filler to shield electronics, absorbing electromagnetic waves to provide good shielding over a range of frequencies. Pro-shield 7100 is a nickel-filled conductive coating that provides a cost-effective EMI shielding solution for plastic components or electronic enclosures.

This single-component (no mixing) coating is easy to use and fully cures in 2-4 hours, producing a shielding effect of 45-60dB in applications such as electronic enclosures, medical devices, industrial cabinets, access panels, ECM, telecommunications infrastructure and portable electronics.

For those who need higher emi protection in the same wide range of applications, it is releasing another conductive coating. Pro-shield 7108 is silver filled to provide premium EMI shielding and surface conductivity to protect critical electronics.

The Pro-Shield 7108, available in aerosol canister form, is also ideal for spraying prototypes and conducting initial qualification tests. The coating cured completely within 24 hours and the shielding effect was 70-89dB.

These two coatings have strong adhesion to plastics such as polycarbonate, epoxy, ABS, PC/ABS, PVC and PPE.

Completing all three new products is Pro-Shield 7002, a corrosion-resistant conductive silicone sealant. This nickel-plated graphite fill product is an easy to use sealant or seam filler for horizontal or vertical surfaces. It flows smoothly and is suitable for parts with complex geometry and difficult to fill cracks. It is an economical and effective method to reduce EMI of commercial electronic products.

24 hours of non-bonding, 7 days of complete curing, shielding effect 40-60dB. Available in 6 oz tubes, it is excellent for all of the above applications, as well as commercial aircraft.
