C&K has released a new optical rotary encoder, the ENC series 24-bit optical encoder with integrated buttons. The new encoder was created to improve its 16-bit optical encoder. In addition to increasing the positioning position by 50%, the 24-bit encoder also has an oft-required right-angle connector socket, making installation easier for the user.

The integrated button, activated by pressing the encoder shaft, makes the encoder a means of interface control, just like clicking a button, all in one simple design. The smooth, precise rotation of the central encoder axis makes it easy for applications such as mode selection or menu navigation to respond quickly and accurately to user input.

The encoder's 2-bit Gray code output makes it easy to monitor the direction and amplitude of rotation through any microcontroller our customers prefer. And the new switch provides a smooth touch, allowing fast rotation.

Encoders are excellent for applications such as automotive entertainment clusters, navigation, volume control knobs. It is also suitable for medical device applications such as menu navigation, power cycling and intensity adjustment. It is suitable for mode selection of control panels and other similar functions in industrial environments.

"The ENC series 24-bit encoders build on the success of the ENC series to provide our customers with more functionality and features while increasing ease of installation. Tanios BouRamia, global Product Manager for C&K, said, "C&K is fully focused on the wants and needs of our customers, reflecting C&K's continued commitment to providing the solutions our customers want and they expect from C&K with high quality."
