Currently available power ratings are 1400W continuous /2400W peak (BMR4912307/856) and 1540W continuous /2450W peak (BMR4913208/857). The Flex power module has expanded its BMR491 range of digital, quarter-brick DC-DC converters with two new variants.

The new variant offers the company's "mixed regulation ratio (HRR)" technology, in which the output voltage varies proportionally to the input voltage but not with the load current, optimizing efficiency and EMI filtering. The module is able to switch between this mode and full output adjustment at a preset input voltage to limit the total variation in output voltage. As a result, the new variant provides improved efficiency of up to 97.5% at 50% load. For data center applications, the input range includes 48-56V and 40-60V output voltages centered around 12V.

The BMR4912307/856 has a smaller 13.4mm height for space-constrained applications. These variants have Event Data Recorder capabilities or "Black boxes" that capture key date-marking operation parameters for simple fault tracking and analysis by turning off events.

All modules have an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C, 1500V input and output "basic" isolation in accordance with IEC/EN/UL 62368-1, and are protected against over temperature, input undervoltage and output overvoltage, overcurrent and short circuit Complete protection.

Provides a four-pin PMBus digital interface supported by the freely available "Flex Power Designer" software for remote configuration, control and monitoring.

Anders Sellin, Product Manager, Flex Power Modules comments: "Customers are increasingly asking us for peak Power handling capabilities to support more dynamic loads, and we are now offering a variety of solutions, including the BMR491 family. Adopting our HRR technology also makes them more efficient -- a winning combination."
