Hirose has refined its portfolio of compact coaxial connectors to serve the growing market for 5G devices. 5G applications require connectors capable of handling higher frequencies, and the c.feather series of coaxial connectors support up to 30Ghz in ultra-small sizes.

The size of the series is only 2mm x 2mm and the fitting height is 0.92mm, which meets the requirements of miniaturization and high performance. The series features high signal integrity and low insertion loss, providing low reflection characteristics up to 30GHz.

The low voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) of the CFL series is 1.4, with a maximum DC to 15GHz; 1.5 standing wave ratio, maximum 15 ~ 20GHz; Standing wave ratio 1.6, maximum 20 ~ 30GHz.

By controlling the cable length accuracy, the phase difference between signals is reduced. To simplify installation, the line offers a wide self-aligning range of ±0.15mm in X and Y directions. Clear tapping sounds indicate mating is correct.

Hirose continues to lead the industry with space-saving connector designs that combine high performance with high reliability. The patented C. Fl series of coaxial connectors extends Hirose's trend to support 5G applications, "said Mark Kojak, hirose Electric USA vice president of sales and Marketing.

Applicable cable diameter is 0.64mm. The range is typically used for portable, consumer and Internet of Things devices.
