The LTC7060 from Analog Equipment is a 100v half-bridge driver with floating ground and adjustable dead time

Technology Cover
Post Date: 2022-11-13, Analog Devices Inc.

The LTC 7060 of ADI Company drives two n-channel mosfet half bridge structures, and the power supply voltage is up to 100 V. Both high side and low side drivers can drive mosfets with different ground references, providing excellent noise and transient immunity.

TYPICAL APPLICATION

Its powerful 0.8 Ω pull-down and 1.5 Ω pull-up MOSFET drivers allow the use of high voltage MOSFETs with large gate capacitors. Other functions include undervoltage lockout (UVLO), tristate pulse width modulation (PWM) input, adjustable on/off delay, and shoot through protection.

                                                                     PIN CONFIGURATION

The demonstration circuit DC2886A is a high power and high efficiency six phase bidirectional converter with LTC7871 and LTC7060. Terminals marked VHIGH and VLOW are inputs or outputs, depending on the direction of the power flow. When the switch of SW1 is in the BUCK position, the VLOW output is 14v and the VHIGH input is 30v~70v. When the switch is in BOOST position, VHIGH outputs 48v and VLOW inputs 10v~14v. The maximum current of VLOW is 180 A in both directions. When working as a buck within the input voltage range, the maximum output power is 2.5 kW. When the input voltage is 14v, the maximum output power is 2.4 kW. External airflow is required for maximum power operation. The mosfet of each phase is driven by LTC7060 half bridge driver. Each LTC 7060 gate driver is placed next to the mosfet and receives PWM signals from the LTC 7871.
