Thin-film encapsulated chip resistors provide precision performance

Post Date: 2022-01-28, Vishay BC Components

Vishay Intertechnology has introduced a new line of high power thin-film packaged chip resistors qualified for the AEC-Q200. The Vishay Dale Thin Film PHPA family of devices are rated at 1W and 2.5W, respectively, in 1206 and 2512 case sizes, offering excellent moisture resistance for self-passivated tantalum nitride films.

These devices are used in automotive power supplies, braking systems, car chargers, motor deflection circuits, and industrial test and measurement equipment. In these applications, resistors combine their high power ratings with low absolute TCR to ±25ppm/C and ±0.1% tolerances for precise performance.

The device has a resistance range of 10-ohm to 30.1kOhm, low noise less than -30dB, low voltage coefficient < 0.1ppm/V, working voltage 200V. Supplied with high purity ceramic substrates, resistors are created with enlarged back terminals to reduce thermal resistance between the top resistance layer and solder joints on the PCB.

These units are RoHS compliant, halogen-free, flame retardant and UL 94 V-0 compliant. They operate in a wide temperature range from -55C to +155C.
