Microchip Technology Inc. now offers NVMe 4016 SSD controllers, the latest addition to the Flashtec controller family. With advanced credit management technology, this next generation controller delivers the strict QoS required by today's cloud-centric data center applications. As the PCIe Gen 5 NVMe SSD controller with the highest performance in the industry, the Flashtec NVMe 4016 delivers high reliability and performance SSDS with a throughput of over 14GB/ s and an IOPS of over 3 million.

Pete Hazen, vp of The Data center Solutions business group at Microchip Said:"Microchip is proud to announce our next generation Flashtec NVMe controller line. Its market-leading performance, coupled with our proven and flexible architecture, means NVMe 4016 can provide our cloud and OEM customers with a cutting-edge platform for their PCIe Gen 5NVMe SSD solutions,"

It allows current customers to use their existing firmware investments from previous generations and provides new customers with the confidence and flexibility to adopt this proven platform for the most challenging cloud and enterprise applications. With 16 high-speed programmable NAND flash channels up to 2400MT/s, this fourth-generation Flashtec controller can use PCIe Gen 5 x 4 speed bandwidth.

Greg Matson, vice president of strategic planning and marketing for Solidigm's Data Center Group  said:"Microchip's controller solutions are a good match for our broad range of TLC and QLC SSDs, as well as future NAND technologies,"  "They provide a powerful enabler for next-generation cloud and enterprise architectures. A combination of functionality, scalability and security. "

Zhong Ji, deputy general manager of Inspur's RESEARCH and development department, said: "How to quickly promote cutting-edge technology to customers is very important to us." "Maximizing the benefits of reusing known generation architectures reduces development risk and effort. Having a fully fledged reference solution, such as the Flashtec Controller PCIe Gen 5 design, will certainly accelerate our efficiency and quality in delivering leading technology to the market."

As an NVMe 2.0 compliant controller, it not only supports all the latest storage and performance computing applications, but its flexible architecture also allows customers to provide future proof of the evolving NVMe specification. Including ZNS and cloud OCP

RossStenfort, Meta storage hardware systems engineer said:"Meeting the challenging requirements of scalable efficiency in terms of manageability, power, performance, and thermal performance in a very large data center environment has been the focus of industry standards such as the OCP Data Center NVMe SSD Specification and EDSFF E1.  "The Flashtec NVMe 4016 controller supports these requirements, enabling SSD manufacturers to meet very large scale requirements."

Dr. Taile Zhang, CEO of Memblaze said: "The Flashtec NVMe 4016 5th generation SSD controller delivers the required performance and architecture for the next generation of NAND,"  "Memblaze and Microchip have forged a great partnership to improve data center efficiency and bring the flexibility needed to address today's and tomorrow's cloud storage needs."
